A career in Art Direction and Design for several international magazines based out of New York City, Fischman relocated to New Hampshire, an area, she describes, “a natural wonder”. After years of translating the stories behind the words in manuscripts, Jill replaced her palette from the pages of magazines to canvas, returning to photography and painting.
“How my work, that defines me, takes shape: Through my art, I aspire to express the complexities of being human. I am deeply affected by the turmoil in our world, resulting in large part, to my own inner turmoil. After all, how can we not find what goes on around us, on so many layers, disturbing? Personally for me, I get to capture and release my feelings on canvas, and give them voice through my oil color palette and strokes. Sometimes it flows and other times I struggle. It’s all part of my process, and my desire is to share this authenticity with myself and you, in hope that the results are produced with successful clarity and purpose.”

I find the word technique
I cannot so much relate to a specific technique, other than I’ve been told it’s the way I blend my colors that people like.
I celebrate as often as the space in my mind allows, by acknowledging a successful business career in publishing. Highlighted by the fact that I worked with the best in the magazine industry. World renowned Art Directors, Editors, Photographers, and Designers. When I chose to reduce the stress in my life and leave the publishing industry, I invented a technique, experimenting with very heavy water color paper, by designing and cutting out original shapes for vessels/vases. My palette was created out of vibrant colored tissue paper. I called them 'Paper-on-Paper Vases, and exhibited and sold to galleries throughout the New York region and produced commissioned work, as well. Please visit my Portfolio page for some eye candy.
